As we step into 2025, we take a moment to reflect with pride on the remarkable achievements of the past year. In 2024, ESNM remained steadfast in its mission to advance Neurogastroenterology and Motility through impactful initiatives, including:

 

  • A highly successful 5-part webinar series on CDI 2.0, conducted in collaboration with colleagues from Asia, Middle and South America.
  • The inaugural International School of Gut Microbiota in Digestive Disease, featuring groundbreaking educational sessions led by world-class experts.
  • A seamless presidential transition from Qasim Aziz to Frank Zerbib, ushering a new chapter for ESNM.
  • The first UAE Neurogastroenterology Meeting in Dubai, a milestone in fostering global collaboration.
  • Several new guidelines endorsed by ESNM for diagnosis and management of different gastrointestinal diseases. 

These accomplishments are a testament to the unwavering support and contributions of our members and friends. We sincerely thank you for being an integral part of our journey.

 

Looking ahead, 2025 promises to be an exciting year, highlighted by NeuroGASTRO 2025 in London, taking place from September 4–6, 2025, where colleagues and friends from around the world will gather for scientific exchange and to strengthen our international bonds. We look forward to welcoming you all!

In October 2024, Qasim Aziz completed his term as ESNM President, guiding the society with dedication through challenging times. The ESNM warmly thanks him for his service and welcomes Frank Zerbib, a renowned expert in esophageal motility, as the new President. We look forward to an exciting future under his leadership!

 

Abstract Submission Opens Soon: NeuroGASTRO 2025

Do you already have plans for 2025? We are delighted to invite you to the next ESNM biennial conference, which will take place in London, UK, at Queen Mary University from 4 to 6 September 2025. The NeuroGASTRO conference is the premier forum for researchers and clinicians to present their publications, studies, and state-of-the-art findings in the field. Abstract submission opens on Monday, January 20, 2025. Attractive sponsorship opportunities are also available on the event website.

Congratulations on Receiving UEG Rising Star Award 2025   

We are pleased to share that Melchior Chloé, a valued young member of the ESNM Steering Committee, has been recognised with the UEG Rising Star Award for 2025. The UEG Laudatio for the Rising Star Award recognises Chloé, along with other exceptional researchers, for their outstanding potential in advancing basic, translational, and clinical science.


News from our Affiliated National Societies: SAGIM 2024

The Scandinavian Association for Motility and Neurogastroenterology (SAGIM) successfully hosted its 12th annual meeting, bringing together 50 participants from across the Nordic countries and Europe. Renowned Danish and European experts delivered captivating lectures on topics such as GI tract highlights, novel pain stimulation methods, and FMT in various diseases.


ESNM at FNM 2024: Advancing Knowledge and Collaboration in Bangkok  

The FNM 2024 conference in Bangkok, Thailand, held from November 5-8, 2024, was a remarkable gathering of global leaders in Neurogastroenterology and Motility, and the European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ESNM) is proud to have contributed to this conference with its multidisciplinary team.

Modern Approach to LPRD

We are pleased to announce that the results of the international working group on the Modern Definition & Approach to Laryngopharyngeal Reflux Disease (LPRD) will be presented at Digestive Disease Week (DDW) on May 3-6, 2025 in San Diego. We look forward to welcoming attendees from across disciplines for this important discussion. Please save the date and spread the word to colleagues and trainees. 


Join the ESNM Network for Clinical Discussion on DocMatter

ESNM has partnered with the online platform DocMatter to provide access for our members to a private, online community of organized and moderated clinical discussion.
