Society News: Irish Society of
Gastroenterology's NGM Special Interest Group

Neurogastroenterology and Motility Special Interest Group established within the Irish Society of Gastroenterology (ISG), the Society’s Winter Meeting was told in December. In 2017, Ireland will host the NeuroGASTRO2017.

Apply for the UEG Rising Star Awards 2017

Every year the UEG National Societies Committee and the UEG Scientific Committee jointly select 6-8 emerging clinical scientists as ‘Rising Stars’. Two of the current 2016 Risings Stars, Andreas Stengel and Mira Wouters, were from the Neurogastroenterology and Motility field and had been supported by ESNM. For 2017, we are aiming to nominate again two candidates that will be selected! Therefore, we would like to invite you to send your application to your national society to receive the necessary support from ESNM for applying directly at UEG.

COST Action BM1106 GENIEUR Training School and Final Conference in Heidelberg

One major goal of GENIEUR is to encourage young colleagues to get engaged in translational neurogastroenterology research. With the Trainging School from March 11-13, GENIEUR offered an excellent platform for young scientists as well as more established colleagues to get introduced to the background knowledge about the state of the art in experimental methods and analysis techniques in genetics, epigenetics and microbiota research.
